Here at the edge of a lake in a shed in a small Irish town, the ordinary is made extraordinary. Within is the laboratory of Rigney, boundary-pushing begetter of handmade spirits who slow distills gin with natures finest oriental botanicals and gunpowder tea. Slow distilled by hand in Ireland. 100% grain neutral spirits. Exotic layers of fresh citrus, oriental botanicals, and gunpowder tea. From the curious mind of PJ Rigney. Our botanicals - slow-distilled by hand in a medieval copper pot gin still: Juniper Berries; Angelica Root; Orris Root; Caraway Seed; Coriander Seed; Meadow -sweet; Cardamom; Star Anise. Vapour-infused botanicals: Fresh Lemon; Grapefruit; Lime; Gunpowder Tea. Gunpowder Tea [From the Orient]: This is a green tea that has been slowly dried, the delicate leaves then carefully rolled into shiny pellets. The flavour is bold and bright with a slight spicy freshness. The Curious Journey of a curious mind. It takes an inquisitive, questing spirit to produce the most remarkable results. Through the years PJ Rigney has taken many journeys from the familiar into terra incognita. In time, those travels brought him here, to the wild and unspoilt landscape of Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim. And it was here that his curious mind, filled with the great oriental traditions of distilling fruit, herbs and botanicals, got to work. The Curious Journey: Drumshanbo Ireland. Germany. Morocco. Romania. Macedonia. India. Indonesia. Cambodia. China. He created The Shed Distillery of PJ Rigney, with its medieval copper pot stills, and began a quest to fuse oriental botanicals with the local Irish ones. As it turned out, they got on very well indeed.
