This is why we diligently work to minimize our environmental impact by ensuring our seafood is sourced, made, and packaged responsibly*. As a great fisherman used to say, “If something’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.”

Gorton’s was founded in 1849 in Gloucester, Massachusetts—America's oldest seaport and the birthplace of the US fishing industry. Since then, our dedication to sourcing the freshest seafood has only swelled. And our pioneering spirit and love for the sea led us to develop the first frozen convenience food and introduce new corporate responsibility and foods—like our now-famous Gorton’s fish sticks.
