Spray bottom and sides of pan(s) with Pam baking spray. 2. Mix: Whisk cake mix, milk, eggs, and melted butter together in large bowl until well blended, about 1 minute. Pour into pan(s). 3. Bake: Bake on rack in center of oven according to chart below. Cake is done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool cake(s) in pan on wire rack 15 minutes. Remove cake(s) from pan and cool completely before frosting. Pan Size: two 8-inch; 28 to 32 min bake time. Two 9-inch; 26 to 28 min bake time. 13 x 9-inch; 32 to 35 min bake time. 24 cupcakes; 18 to 20 min bake time. Dolly's Extra Special: Strawberries & Cream Cake: You Will Need: 1 container (16 oz) Dolly Parton's Buttercream Frosting, 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream, 1/2 cup thinly sliced strawberries, additional halved strawberries for decorating. Do not eat raw batter. 1. Bake: Mix and bake round cakes according to directions above. Cool completely. 2. Mix: Pour heavy cream into large bowl and beat with electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks from, about 2 minutes. Scoop 2 tablespoons buttercream frosting into bowl of whipped cream and beat on low just until blended. 3. Decorate: Place on cooled cake layer on serving plate. Spread thin layer on top of first.
